For the first time in India, Toesmith, combined technology and 3D interactive design to give you the perfect pair of customised footwear. Toesmith is a joint venture of Ashish Prakash and Aayush Jindal (two IIT Delhi graduates). They worked together in a health-tech start up. Gaining technology experience and having a shoe manufacturing unit (Aayush's father business) led to the birth of India's First Tech-driven Footwear Brand - Toesmith.
Ashish is well experienced in designing websites and product development and Aayush is well known with the shoe infrastructure. They both designed an innovative 3D design that interacts with consumers and let's them to customise their own footwear. Yes! And the customisation is not limited to the print or material, you can customise different parts of the shoe. Sounds interesting? Read on to know about my experience with Toesmith.
How to Customise Footwear?
Customising shoes on Toesmith is an easy process through their website. Visit www.toesmith.com and browse from their wide range of footwear designer collection. They have different cool designs and prints that you can select from. If you are a designer then you can get your own design printed on custom shoes as well. Let's go through the process!
As you visit Toesmith website, you will find a Customise option. Click on CUSTOMISE MY SHOE.
Select your SHOE STYLE - Mules, Slip-ons , Lace-Ons or Sliders. The customisation STUDIO will open.
You will see a 3D view of footwear along with options to select and customise. Select the part of the custom shoe that you wish to customise first.
Select a SOLID colour or PATTERN or UPLOAD AN IMAGE for that part. As you select an option, it's preview will appear on the screen. Repeat same steps for each part of the footwear that you wish to customise.
You will also see an option to add text under PERSONALIZE option. Type the text for left and right sides of the custom shoe and click NEXT.
Now, PERSONALISE THE TEXT font, colour and size. Click Done to see the magic!
Once, you are done with the entire customisation, click on ADD TO CART. You will see the final design, select the GENDER and SHOE SIZE. That's it!
Place the order and receive each update on E-mail and mobile. Once the customised Footwear is delivered, wear it and flaunt your own design!
How is the quality of shoes?
First of all, let me appreciate the packaging. Being a startup, they didn't compromise with anything. Right from packaging to the final product, everything is of good quality. The shoes come packed in a good quality sturdy box that keeps your Tech-driven footwear safe during transit.
I placed an order for Diamond Print Lace-on Sneakers. The shoes fabric is amazing, and the design impressed me a lot.
The shoes are comfortable to wear. The inner sole is puffy that keeps your feet going. I wore Customised Toesmith Sneakers for an entire day and my feet didn't hurt at all. It felt comfortable and my feet perfectly fit in them. The laces are quite sturdy, so I am sure this pair of shoes would last longer.
It is difficult to find my shoe size as my feet are broad from the front, so rarely any brand's Women collection footwear fits my feet perfectly. Mostly, I end up buying shoes from Men's collection. Yeah, that's true! But thanks to Toesmith, now I have a pair of customised sneakers that fits perfectly from the Women's collection.
