Pavitra Rishta – A Love Story of Manav and Archana is a 2009 Indian TV serial produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, Balaji Films. The show started on 1st June 2009 and run successfully over the platform till 25 October 2014. This 5 year, 5 months long show was a hit and people loved the chemistry between the main leads. The show starts with Archana, Ankita Lokhande, who is a sincere lady and dreams to achieve and fulfil her dreams. Her mother, Sulochana (Savita Prabhune), wanted Archana to get settled with an educated and financially stable gentleman who would take care of her forever. But… ‘Kehte hai na Jodi Bhagwan banate hai.’

Archana’s first engagement was called off and then her marriage got fixed with the hero of the show, Manav. Manav was a hardworking car mechanic, but Archana’s sister-in-law was cunning, so she told a lie to their family. She told them that Manav was a mechanical engineer and the garage where he worked was his own. Archana’s mother was happy and everything went on smoothly, but… ‘Jab tak kahani mei twist na ho to maza kaha.’

As Ekta Kapoor is famous for her drama serials, so the drama went on and right after marriage Archana and her family got to know Manav’s truth. Now, what? Will Archana go and live with Manav or break the marriage? This was the break point in the show because this is when the truth bond between Manav and Archana started.
Manav and Archana stayed apart for few days, but Bhagwan ki marzi ke age kiski chalti hai, so they had to come together. Archana’s mother did her Bidaai and she entered her new life with Manav. The story looks so fancy like a fairy-tale, but this couple did not have a happy life ever after because in real life there are struggles, happiness, ups and downs in life. This is the main reason that Pavitra Rishta was a hit as many people could relate to the storyline.
Also, the entry of khadoos saas in Archana’s life makes the serial more interesting as Usha Nadkarni’s acting is great as well as hilarious sometimes which adds more life to the serial. And the super talented actors like Sushant Singh Rajput, Ankita Lokhande, Savita Prabhune, Usha Nadkarni, Asha Negi, Rithvik Dhanjani and others left no stone unturned to make the storyline feel real. Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande acted like a real-life couple. Their chemistry and struggles could be related to what many of us experience in our life. I enjoyed watching this serial and it is one of my favourites.

ReplyDeleteI have been born and brought up in Indore and when I was studying in Pune this serial had started airing. Its simplicity kind of connected the common middle class family and brought it to the forefront. Sushant and Ankita are treat to watch in this serial. Surely watching it again.
